This zeppelin model measures about five feet from nose to tail.  The balloon structure was made out of foam-core and fabric.  14 circular foam-core discs of varying diameters were positioned along a wooden rod.  Each of these discs had 24 evenly-spaced notches cut out of them.  24 foam-core strips, cut in the shape of the outside edge of the balloon, were then slid into place on the discs.  Once all the pieces were in place, fabric was stretched tight across the foam-core structure, the 24 foam-core strips providing the longitudinal ribs visible through the fabric.

The hull-shaped base of the passenger area was initially sculpted in clay.  A mold was made of this clay sculpture, and a light-weight resin replica was made from the mold.  The deck, walls, and roof (made from lauan and balsa) were then built onto the resin base.  A miniature railing rod was sculpted from a 1/16th x 1/16th inch stick of balsa, at 1/20th scale of the real railing rods filmed with the actors against a green screen.  The miniature was then molded, and this mold was used to make the 36 rods needed to line the deck.

This scene was built for a commercial for Dynamics.  It was modeled after an actual treehouse that was built for the commercial.  My role in the construction of the scene was to build the miniature furniture, to assist in the molding and casting of the silicone resin trees, and to help assemble the treehouse boxes.  I also constructed the hanging ladder and bridge.  The commercial is viewable below.
